I've been on a mission to simplify my process and brushwork while still trying to be loose. Opting for shapes and "tiles" of color over texture has been a big change over the past year and I've found that texture is also something i need to think of in terms of shapes rather than just noise, so it's made me rethink my tools as well. It's been a great learning journey so far, and the only thing that i'm still uncertain about is how loose i should really be going. While i enjoy leaving things implied, depending on the painting its a bit of a struggle deciding just how subtle or detailed something ought to be ever since I went down the sylized route. Something to work on for sure!
